Have you ever put something in a place so "safe" you couldn't find it? On Saturday we told everyone to be careful with the tin containing the votes for favorite quilt. We know you wanted to know which was the favorite, and I promised to share the info as soon as we went through the votes. Only one thing is missing - how could we misplace a tin that large?! Maybe the garden gnomes are playing a trick on us... I promise to share the winner as soon as we find the tin!

Wishing you a week of no lost items (is that even possible?)!

I would like to thank everyone for making our Trax Quilting and Needlework Seminar day wonderful. From the friends and staff members that loaned their fantastic quilts for display, to your QC staff friends, to the teachers who shared their time and talent, and the Trax staff that took care of us on Saturday - you are incredible - we could not host the day without every one of you! And to you, our guests, thank you for being with us. We hope you enjoy the day as much as we do! You are not going to believe this, but we are already planning for next year - Trax has worked us into their plan and we couldn't be more excited! Again, thank you to everyone.

Shop Hop Passport Premiere Party
Thursday ~ March 16th ~ 10:00-5:00

Do you have your calendar marked for the 2017 SWPA Shop Hop June 13
th - 17th? And how about for the Passport Premiere Party this week?! On Thursday you will have your first chance to purchase a passport. Of course there will be a little gift (the first pattern in the 2017 progressive kit and even fabrics to make the unique block), a chance to win a wonderful door prize and sweets - definitely a party that will introduce this year's event in style. Don't forget - purchase your passport soon so you can use it to get a $5.00 discount on your admission to the Knit and Crochet and Creative Festival next week. So many fun things to do and make - you don't want to miss out!

New Fabrics!

You would think something was amiss if I didn't share new fabrics in my letter - here are just two of at least 10 collections that arrived in the last couple weeks! I hope you can stop in to see the others.

Black and White, a new collaborative collection from Cotton and Steel, can be found in the back corner of the shop. The talented designers in the group have each added their whimsical style to the mix. You will find wonderful rather classic, intricate geometric patterns, but the fun really begins with the raccoons and bears! Birds, cats, even roller skates expand the mix. While the line is named Black and White, they really mean look what happens when you add a pop of pink! Even the feel of these fabrics, printed on organic cotton, is a bit different (a little more like linen). They are worth searching out and adding to your next creation! Fabric $11.65 per yard

Kismet is the newest Paula Nadelstern collection. The "fussy cut" fans in the crowd are going to be thrilled! The intricate, kaleidoscope-like designs are offered in rich blue, red, orange and gold combinations. They will be spectacular cut into tiny pieces and stitched into intricate wonders or used in large swaths, like Paula does in many of the pieces in her new book. "Fabricadabra" shares glorious photos, and guidelines, for working simple quilts with complex fabrics. The combination of fabric and book is going to lead to your next masterpiece! Fabric $11.10 per yard, Book $29.95

We are joining several small, local, home design and gift shops for a tiny hop, the South Hills Spring Stroll, on April 1st and 2nd. As you travel from Quilters Corner, to Fabulous Finds on route 88, to Bloom on Washington Rd. and Voila on Camp Lane you will sign in, look at all the shops have to offer, and enter your name in a drawing for a wonderful prize. Visit all the shops that weekend and you will be registered for a chance to win a goodie basket containing a $50.00 gift certificate from each! During the weekend we will be showing how to construct pillowcases and unique runners to add a special touch to your home. This is something a little different - we hope you will enjoy visiting these special shops owned by women in our neighborhood.
