Wow - some weeks are more confusing than others in my house! Lots of packing going on this week... The list goes sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, quilt racks - wait no, they go on the other list! It will be interesting to see if we show up to the Three Rivers Quilt Guild show with the correct packages! We hope you'll be able to visit to see what the show looks like in its new home at the Meadows. There are sure to be incredible quilts featured this Thursday, Friday and Saturday (April 27th, 28th and 29th), and hopefully our booth will not be featuring sunscreen!

See you soon,
Mary Beth
We are terribly excited to be welcoming Kathy Doughty to Quilters Corner this July. She will share her unique, contemporary take on a traditional compass quilt in the Lost At Sea class Sunday, July 23rd from 10:00am-5:00pm. She will focus on fabric selection, a marvelous way to accurately make the compasses, and on techniques for adding the circles that enliven the quilt further. This is going to be a fantastic day - we would love to welcome you to the group!
Fee: $95.00 (includes pattern, instruction and lunch) - register soon to avoid disappointment!

We will also host Kathy for an autograph party on Saturday, July 22nd. She will quickly share several of her quilts and then sign your copies of her books. I have my copy of "Mixing Quilt Elements" out at home. I'm enjoying reading it - cover to cover - and if I leave it on the coffee table it will be easy to find for her signature come July! Let us know if you would like to attend the autograph party, and If you would like us to order Kathy's books for you.
Spring Quilters Day Out!
Friday ~ May 12th ~ 10:00-4:00

I can't wait to be in the elegant, beautiful sewing space we invade for our Quilters Day Out programs! The restored Victorian house (yes, you get a tour of the whole house!) is a short distance from the Crafton exit off route 79. This time we will be making a wonderful 65" x 77" quilt with the help of the Cat's Cradle tool. It might seem hard to believe, but the blocks are made only with squares when using the tool - no triangles! You bring your sewing machine, thread, and notions and we provide a kit for your project - the kit includes your choice of either the blue, purple and green combination of our sample or black and white prints accented with yellow fabrics for the top and binding. Darlene provides a wonderful lunch, a beautiful setting and instruction - what could be better?!
Fee: $127.00 (includes quilt kit, instruction, lunch and goodie bag)
QC Anniversary Celebration
Friday May 5th and Saturday May 6th ~ 10:00am-5:00pm

It seems almost impossible; we begin our 29th year this May! Of course we will celebrate with fabric. It is after all, the reason you first visited! We will showcase the newest collections, share a special anniversary charm collection with you (29 coordinated charms - our party favor while the supply lasts), and offer you a chance to win the incredible door prize (29 coordinated 1 yard cuts of glorious fabric!). No party would be complete without cake, so it rounds out the celebration. We love welcoming you throughout the year and are most grateful for all you do to make this celebration possible - thank you, thank you, thank you!

As we were straightening the fabrics in the front corner of the shop, we realized we should share a little peek at the adorable fabrics that have just arrived.
If you love the Scandinavian style artwork that is currently super trendy, Woodie by Stof is a beautiful choice. Soft shades of dusty blue are paired with sandy taupes and greys to create a very soothing, woodsy palette. The simple sketches of fox, bears and trees are offered in little frames on a panel type print and as complimentary designs. They are perfect for a fashionable nursery, yet have timeless appeal. Fabric $11.30 per yard

Sandy Gervais offers another take on super cute, cuddly creatures in her Corner of 5
th and Fun group. The group is the perfect line for springtime; the colors and patterns are fresh and fun, ideal for the new little ones you are welcoming to your family at the moment.  Corner of 5th and Fun features florals, polka dots, party hats and a gang of sweet squirrels, burly little bears, bouncy bunnies, cute kitties and baby birds. The soft honey, coral, taupe and teal shades look great in the quick Catchanap quilt top Debbie pieced. A bit of quilting and she will have the gift finished - adorable!
Fabric $10.99 per yard, charm pack $9.99, Catchanap pattern card $3.50
