DearFriends,
You would think
that not much has been going on at the shop
because I haven't written in so long -
nothing could be further from the truth! We
have rushed from the shops anniversary to
market, market party and then the Western
P.A. Shop Hop. It might have been doable if
not for assorted birthdays, graduations and
the end of another school year... Now that I
can spend a few minutes wandering around the
shop I realize there are new things
absolutely everywhere!!! Jeni has already
shared some of the fabrics with you on other
parts of the site - so here is a quick look
at some of those that arrived this week and
at some of the models we created with our
favorite new patterns.
Enjoy,
Mary Beth
PS I forgot to
let you know where I traveled in May to see
fabric production... so sorry! If you visit
cranstonvillage.com you can find out how to
visit the plant in Webster, Mass. I find just
about anything related to textile history and
production fascinating, so if you get that
far, be sure to travel on to Lowell and the
New England Quilt Museum and The American
Textile Museum (my favorite!).

Our 58" x 69"
version of the 2007 Western P.A. Shop Hop
quilt includes fourteen pieced blocks and
four appliqué. If you missed the event, the
pattern for our design can be purchased -
including both the pieced blocks designed by
Karen Montgomery from the Quilt Company and
my appliqué - after July 15th for $10.00. We
would also be happy to cut you a kit
including fat quarters for piecing,
background and setting fabrics similar to
those used in our sample (fabric kit price -
$85.00).

| Kinetic Energy |
 |
|
A new model
hung above our Jinny Beyer fabrics has been a
big hit. Kinetic Energy, designed by Barbara
Persing and Mary Hoover, showcases a range of
light to dark fabrics cut in strips of
varying widths. Our sample has been made in
green, but we have cut blue, purple, and red
groups for our guests. The visual impact
resulting from the simple piecing is
phenomenal! Pattern $8.00, Fabric kit $59.50
(includes fabrics for top and binding).

We have a
beautiful display of two of Jeni's quilts in
the back corner of the shop at the moment.
Can you imagine having the ability to not
only design and write the patterns, but also
execute such amazing stitching?! Booklets and
patterns are available for the blocks in each
of the pieces.

| Schnibbles! |
 |
|
We love Carrie
Nelson's newest pattern collection. Her
Schnibbles have been designed to use the
assorted charm square packets that are the
current quilt world rage. The Spin City quilt
shown measures 30" x 30" and is made from 80
charm squares (she suggests two or three
matching packs). Creative cutting and piecing
techniques use almost every last bit of the
fabric squares. This is just one of this fun
series that we have already stitched. Pattern

| New Fabrics! |

Each day the
UPS truck brings another new 2007 Christmas
collection. My current favorite is an icy
blue Moda line called Snow Village. The night
sky, swirling snow, and village scene
beautifully compliment a series of
commemorative Williamsburg plates we own.
They would make wonderful table linens with
our white china, as well - now I'm sure I
need several yards! $8.50 per yard

| Thimbleberries News... |
 |
|
Two new
Thimbleberries lines are filling our back
corner. Lynette has outdone herself with the
Wiggles and Giggles baby group. The colors
are lighter and brighter, while the prints
are reminiscent of 50's and 60's vintage baby
motifs. Amber has already stitched Lynette's
newest pattern - Fatty, Fatty, 2 x 4 (a fast,
fun quilt) - from these retro cuties. For a
more traditional Thimbleberries look, the new
Autumn Traditions collection is a must. The
elegant florals and small blender prints are
available in green, brown, rust, and red.
$8.10 per yard, pattern $9.00
