Dear Friends,

A month of short vacations has left me exhausted and inspired. The last car trip home was preceeding at an excruciatingly slow pace. All of a sudden my husband said, "are you guys looking at the sky?". It was clear and sunny with three distinct levels of clouds. The great big fluffy ones looked close enough to touch. Kind of like giant cotton candy. Talk about perspective! I started to wonder how to capture that in fabric - as it turns out inspiration is everywhere! Hopefully we'll all find time to see inspiration in the ordinary today!

     Happy stitching!

  • Join our Quilt Pink project!

We have started a fun project that will allow everyone to help with the Quilters Corner Quilt Pink 2007 project. A quick block swap will help raise money for breast cancer research. All the money raised by your $10.00 kit fee will go to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation, by way of Quilt Pink. Kits for the swap include a pattern for a 10" block, a half yard of pink fabric, color swatches of background and a secondary color which may be added and two tickets to enter our Quilt Pink door prize drawing. You will create seven of one block. The blocks are then returned to the shop. One block will go into the Quilt Pink group quilt and the other six will be "swapped". Thus, six different blocks will be returned to you. This is a fast, fun way to not only support a worthy cause but also create your own sampler. Yes, you can purchase more than one kit! Stop in or order your blocks today - they must be returned to the shop by September 20th.

    New Fabrics!

Jen knows she is falling behind on the website... New fabrics are coming in faster than she can get to them. In case you are coming to visit- here are a few of the newest arrivals you will want to see!

First we have Shangri La by Three Sisters for Moda. What can we say? They have done it again with a lavish line of print damask, paisley, diagonal stripes, florals and mini prints that all coordinate beautifully. As always with a Three Sisters line, they also blend well with any previous fabric line that they have designed.

The next two are Lava and Bali Rain from Blank Textiles. Full of rich tones in every color of the rainbow from bright yellow to deep purple- you may want to check these out! Lava has gold metallic highlights and either line will at a colorful spark to your next project.

Lastly, for today, we have Festival from Kings Road. This diverse line has a variety of prints in those luscious shades of teal, brown and bronze green that are so popular right now.

Many of these will be available on the website over the coming week- so keep your eye on our new fabric page!

    Luscious Little Block 21

Luscious Little Block- Pattern #21 is now available! We will be happy to send you piecing fabrics for the block as shown (you provide your own block backgrounds). Please send $2.00 and a SASE to the shop and we will get them in the mail so you can begin stitching.

Each online pattern is available as an Adobe PDF. We also have archived all of the prior releases on Luscious Little Block Page so you will not miss a pattern! Once the file is open in a browser window you can print or save a copy to your hard drive. (Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat for best results.)
