Dear Jenifer,

All right, where is it?! Not on the file cabinet where I put it away, not in the pile on the cutting mat because I cleaned that up last week, not on the floor... Nuts! Now I remember, I used the end of the freezer paper last week! Thank goodness you don't live next door to me. The Luscious Little block requires templates this time (I make them from freezer paper) and I wanted to make it at midnight! I was desperate - I would have knocked on your door. After digging in my unfinished appliqué project pile I found a tiny piece - twenty minutes wasted... I think the block took me less time than the hunt! Don't worry - you won't have to bring me some - I'm stopping at the grocery store before going to the shop this morning!

Hope all your supplies are close at hand - happy stitching!

           Mary Beth

  • A Pink, Thank You!

Thank you so much for all your help with our 2007 Quilt Pink projects! The block swap was great fun (watch for details in the fall class supplement about another upcoming block swap to benefit the food bank) - your blocks are wonderful. It was fun to arrange - and rearrange - them on Saturday. Our top is just about done and ready to go off to Bona for quilting. After it is bound both quilt and donations will travel to Better Homes and Gardens on the way to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Again thank you!

    Historic Inspirations!

Jo Morton's newest book has just arrived. Remembrances showcases both her unique pattern sense and fabric lines for Andover. Once again the historically inspired designs are created from small pieced blocks. Jo is a master at producing instruction and illustration for the techniques best suited to blocks in that scale. Jo's commentary about the pieces and a bit of appliqué round out the book. Truly a pleasure to read and great inspiration! $25.00

    Elegant Fabric Ornaments

We have added another session for the Elegant Fabric ornament class. I'm sure the new session on November, 8th from 6:30 to 8:30 will fill as quickly as the others - if you have been waiting to take this one give us a call today so you don't miss out!

    Stacking on the Charm...

Our Q.C. Charm packs are a great way to gather just a little bit of everything. Each stack contains fifty 5" squares - two each of twenty-five different fabrics. I used one of the August stacks (and added backing and binding fabrics) - predominately Thimbleberries - to stitch my favorite runner from the Little Charmers #4 pattern. With all the fabric pre-selected it was a super fast project (pieced in less than an evening!). Charm stack $9.95, Pattern $8.50

    A Touch of Vintage...

Lynette Jensen's love of vintage artwork can be clearly seen in her newest Thimbleberries panel prints. Each print has information along the edge - including yardage requirements and instructions - to create a baby, wall or throw size piece. The exquisite artwork would also be great as the centerpiece of a larger quilt. For collectors of all things "Thimbleberries" these are a must have! $11.30 each

    Only for the Guys???

You can't beat Andover's new Tools of the Trade for a fun "guy quilt". The bold black and white prints could be the "nuts and bolts" (sorry I just couldn't resist) of your next project. $8.00 per yard

    Going International!

We are having a lot of fun creating new models from patterns by Canadian designers for our October 20th celebration. In the past we celebrated the work of textile artists in Bali - this time we're "staying" a bit closer to home. We thought you might like a sneak peak at one of the new models. Barb has paper pieced the whimsical Three Sewing Machines from Meadow Lily Bridge in Hamilton, Ontario. It's just the start - we won't stop stitching until the night before the event - so there will be lots to see - inspiration at every turn! One last bit of temptation - fabrics purchased in full meter cuts from the bolt that day will be $1.00 off per meter!

    Luscious Little Block 22

Luscious Little Block- Pattern #22 is now available! We will be happy to send you piecing fabrics for the block as shown (you provide your own block backgrounds). Please send $2.00 and a SASE to the shop and we will get them in the mail so you can begin stitching.

Each online pattern is available as an Adobe PDF. We also have archived all of the prior releases on Luscious Little Block Page so you will not miss a pattern! Once the file is open in a browser window you can print or save a copy to your hard drive. (Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat for best results.)
