Dear Friends,
Well, are you wondering what was in all those boxes last week? We opened some neat new patterns and notions, but mostly the mountain contained fabric! They proved to be a riotous rainbow in an extensive range of styles. I only have a few minutes for descriptions as I'm on my way to Quilt Market - I hope you can visit to see them in person!
Mary Beth
PS I forgot to mention the new Kansas City Star titles that were in the mountain as well - absolutely awesome! I'll read several cover to cover while I'm on the plane so that I'll be able to share reviews when I return (I'm hoping to get an appliqué piece from Ruby Red Dots started too - do you think there will be any problem with reading and stitching at the same time?).
PSS Whoops - just one more thing. This weekend is your last chance to vote for your favorite Anniversary Challenge entry. The pieces are wonderful - Lizzie filled out a slip with six different favorites - I'm pretty certain we can't count that ballot!

Pumpkin Pincushion
Amber's pumpkin pincushion has been in the shop about two weeks - I fear you may have missed it. The delightful wool creation is the first offering in her pincushion club. It's a bit late to get in on the action now, but keep the club in mind for December (the second meeting). Amber has been adding handmade pincushions to her collections for quite some time and one is more adorable than the next.

New Fabrics!
Jo Morton's newest group, Stafford County, makes the perfect addition to the front counter at Quilters Corner. In this group she has increased the scale of her prints just a bit, while retaining her signature palette. The large scale floral and stripe (well, large for Jo) are certain to become favorites. $8.80 per yard See the Stafford County fabrics online...
The perfect combination, bright colors and whimsical cats, can be found in Folklorica. Black backgrounds enhance the predominantly orange, red and green prints. $8.95 per yard See this fabric online...
There is no need for leaves to blow in the front door - the newest Compliments selection from South Seas already blankets the entry bench. The delicate etched leaf pattern comes in a range of shades from beige to deepest black. The brighter tones of several of the prints are the perfect compliment to some of the new fall paisley prints. $8.60 per yard See the Compliments fabrics online...
The Lincoln collection is the newest historic style line form Windham fabrics. Deep reds, browns and blues tie together small-scale prints and large commemorative style panel pieces. The Civil War Presidents quilt, designed by Karen Witt, is the perfect showcase for the group. $9.20 per yard See the Lincoln Bicentennial fabrics online...
We only have a few pieces of Natures Palette - but they are definitely worth a look. Each bolt is shaded down its length in an undulating rainbow. I have already seen them used in a stunning purse - I can't wait to see how you use them. $9.30 per yard

Psssst.....
While Mary Beth's in Houston we're busily making room for whatever she brings back - she's never come back empty handed! We've cut a bunch of bolts that didn't have much left on them into $1.00 fats and 4-4-U packs. The selection is much bigger than usual - if you stop in this weekend she won't even know we've been cleaning house while she's away! Barb
