Dear Friends,
 Some kids help around the house with dishes or dusting - my kids never know what will be next... We just received a huge box of gorgeous hand made baskets for the shop. They travel all the way from Ghana, they are products of a fair trade women's cooperative, and are crushed flat in the process. In the past we have used a hose in the back yard to wet them down and return them to shape. It was so cold and dismal this week that Lizzie and I could be found in the kitchen (good thing for the huge sink) swishing them and then reshaping them on the counters. It involved lots of towels, and laughter - I'm not sure if the baskets or we were wetter! They look spectacular now. These baskets are incredibly strong and beautiful - I love this falls brand new shape. Visit soon to get a look at the new baskets and loads of other things we brought back from market! From our Table...
 We are finishing new table runners, at an amazing rate, so they can be included in our From Our Table display which begins next week. Each year we arrange tabletop displays that feature china, and other goodies from our collections, and invite you to vote for your favorite. We also hold a drawing, which you can enter by bringing an item to share with the food bank, whose winner receives a kit for the events favorite table topper.

We would like to congratulate Kay for winning the viewer's choice award for our 21st anniversary challenge. Her delightful small pieced quilt expertly used all of the charms we shared at our party in May. The voting was very close - all of the pieces entered showed the talent and diversity of the makers. You are all to be congratulated!

Our 12 Days of Christmas Class Series
The class descriptions for our 12 Days of Christmas class series are ready to share. The short sessions (each two hours or less) cover a wide range of topics. The projects are things that will be fun to make and share as gifts. At only $12.00 each (with some including supplies in that fee) they are a terrific deal! Class sizes are limited; register as soon as possible to be certain you get a space.

It's here!!! The Essence collection from Moda is wonderful for many reasons - not the least of which is that it is the group used in our American Patchwork and Quilting Oak and Berries quilt! We started shipping the kits that were pre-ordered last week and have just now had a chance to get some into the front display.
