Dear Friends,
It has certainly been busy around Quilters Corner! We had great fun during our evening with Kaffe, Liza and Brandon and then spent several days taking in the beautiful quilts displayed at the Three Rivers Quilt Show. Now a nap might have been in order, but instead we've spent the last week adding new shelves and tons of new fabric to the shop! Your next visit should be like a treasure hunt. Debbie and I fear we may have hid the purple fabric a bit too well, but we're sure you'll let us know...
See you soon, Mary Beth

Mother's Day Gift Idea and New Fabrics!
We've had a long discussion in the shop about whether a Three Sisters collection from Moda should include gray prints. Personally I'm thrilled with the bit of gray combined with the usual pale blue, green, pink and red in their newest offering. It makes Martinique my current favorite pastel group. I'm pretty sure everyone else agrees at this point - the large floral with the gray background is almost gone already! Fabric $8.99 per yard, charm packs $8.00, Jelly Rolls $35.00 See these fabrics online...
I started with a Martinique charm pack for our Mother's Day runner kit. You will find that this lovely kit includes the Tile Runner pattern sheet, a charm stack and fabrics for the runner background and binding ( all packed in a sweet ceramic vase). Mom will enjoy not only receiving your thoughtful gift but also stitching and using the attractive decorative accent. Kit $ 19.95 I had so many gorgeous Martinique charms left after constructing the Tile Runner that I just had to keep stitching. By adding yardage for handles, lining and backing I was able to turn my "leftovers" into a charming and very practical lunch bag. I had intended to use new fabrics from Fig Tree for their Little Patches Lunchbag tote (not to worry, I've already begun using them in my next project) which is just one of the five designs in their Easiest Handbags Ever pattern. True to the pattern name, it was easy to construct and is the perfect size and shape for carrying lunch in style. Pattern $9.00

Bubble Bath Quilt by Sue Cook
Sue Cook's Bubble Bath quilt has been incredibly popular - no surprise, since it's adorable! As some of you already realize the fabric requirements published did not match those we received in advance. Not to worry. You will find that your kit has far more green than you need, perfect for beginning another project, and additional fabric of several of the other pieces is on its way to you if you ordered the kit on line from us before April 19th. If you purchased a kit in the shop before April 19th please bring it in when you next visit so we can swap out some of the pieces. Order Online.....

Anniversary Party!
Plans for our 2010 shop anniversary party are just about complete. On May 7th and 8th we will be celebrating the beginning of Quilters Corners 22nd year. No party would be complete with out party treats, party games and party favors - ours will cover all the bases! We've begun new displays for the celebration in every corner of the shop and have our demonstration models almost ready (well I have to admit Barb and Laura are ready, I'm still stitching like mad!). The free technique demonstrations will be presented at 11:00am and 2:00pm on both days. We would love to welcome you to the party! |

The combination of small and large squares is the perfect showcase for Kaye's new English Pathways fabric group. Pattern $5.00, Kit $26.95 (kit includes the pattern and fabrics for top and binding)

Note from Elizabeth
I want to tell everyone thank you for supporting my pincushion project at the Trax programs in March and April. When I started I hoped to be able to raise enough money to send a flock of chickens to a family in need (through Heifer International). I am happy to tell you I was able to send 2 pigs, 1 goat, 1 flock of geese, 1 flock of ducks and 4 flocks of chickens! I have a couple pincushions to finish and will send even more chickens!
Thank you! Elizabeth
