While creating this year's Quilters Corner date book last fall we scheduled this Saturday as the 2012 Thimbleberries premiere. As it turns out we are ready to premiere Thimbleberries and three additional clubs on Saturday! Yes, we have been stitching like crazy people and enjoying every minute of the effort! If you can manage a quick visit you will be able to see the projects that will fill Thimbleberries, Culture Club, Crabapple Hill Crowd and Barb and Friends meetings as the new year begins. Four new clubs with four very different styles and emphasis - something for everyone! I will be demonstrating the construction of one of the small Culture Club projects when the shop opens (and sharing a free pattern for the design) and there will be projects from the other clubs featured around the shop. A few sweets and club door prizes will round out the day. Hope you can make it!

2012 Snow Day Surprise
 I know you would never wish for lots of snow (at least those of you who don't ski...), but should that happen we have just the project to keep you happily stitching through the storm! This coming Monday, the 12th, our 2012 Snow Day Surprise kits will first be available. The kit includes fabrics for a historic style pieced quilt top and binding. Like those of the mid 1800's, the 60" x 60" piece is composed of blocks that travel all the way to the quilts edge. As a new option this year you may order an expanded kit that will include fabric for a pieced inner border and single fabric outer border that will "grow" your quilt to 80" x 80". You'll notice there is one important part missing from the kit description - the pattern. That is the surprise part! You purchase your kit now at the amazing price below and then receive the pattern via email on the first day of 2012 that 5" or more of snow falls on Quilters Corner in Finleyville, PA! As soon as the pattern is published the 60" x 60" version of the kit becomes $74.95. Our version of the Woven Wonder runner showcases a beautiful Hoffman Christmas print. The elegant petite accent (8 ½" x 37 ½") was quickly and easily constructed, making it a good project to add to your last minute gift efforts. Give the finished piece or purchase the kit for a quilting friend - either way it makes a wonderful gift. Ocean Getaway
 You may have missed the start of our current $1.00 per month block project. We are calling our version of the Thangles quilt Ocean Getaway. The quilt features two each of 12 block designs stitched as a positive and negative of each fabric combination. We are providing the ocean, batik fabrics in a watery range of exquisite color, while you provide the sand, background fabric, and setting fabrics. A new kit, containing "ocean" and pattern, is available the first of each month for only $1.00. If you forget to pick up a kit in any given month, or loose the one you do get, they are available for $3.00 each at a later date. We are already in month two, but if this is the first you have heard about the project you may purchase both kit 1 and 2 for $1.00 each.
