Baby Essentials Bag from Quilters Corner

A new children's group from Hoffman is perfect for our Baby Essentials Bag (the pattern is included in our Spring/Summer 2010 class schedule). We used the all-over animal print for the lining and found that the dots and stripes were just right for the outside of this handy tote. Fabric kit $23.50 (required interfacing and batting are not included)

Our QC Mother's Day Tile Runner Kit

Mary Beth started with a Martinique charm pack for our Mother’s Day runner kit. You will find that this lovely kit includes the Tile Runner pattern sheet, a charm stack and fabrics for the runner background and binding ( all packed in a sweet ceramic vase). Mom will enjoy not only receiving your thoughtful gift but also stitching and using the attractive decorative accent. Kit $ 19.95

Kaffe Fassett

Mary Beth had so many gorgeous Martinique charms left after constructing the Tile Runner that she just had to keep stitching. By adding yardage for handles, lining and backing she was able to turn her “leftovers” into a charming and very practical lunch bag. She had intended to use new fabrics from Fig Tree for their Little Patches Lunchbag tote (not to worry, she has already begun using them in her next project) which is just one of the five designs in their Easiest Handbags Ever pattern. True to the pattern name, it was easy to construct and is the perfect size and shape for carrying lunch in style. Pattern $9.00

We are terribly excited to congratulate Sue Cook on her newest published pattern. Her adorable Bubble Bath quilt is featured in the June/July issue of Quilt Magazine (scheduled to hit the news stand April 13th). The quilt's delightful ducks and bubbles are paper pieced from colorful bright prints. The 34" x 41 ½" quilt will be perfect for your favorite little one. Kits for the top and binding, in the fabrics Sue used, are available so you can begin stitching as soon as your magazine arrives.

Courtyard Garden Quilt

featured in the latest issue of American Patchwork and Quilting

I’m supposed to be baking pies right now (that takes a good deal of effort for me as I am not the worlds best baker!) but I’m completely distracted by the new American Patchwork and Quilting magazine, which arrived in the shop yesterday. I know I always say the current issue is my favorite ever (although it will be hard for them to top the Fall Top Shops issue) but wait until you see!
My Courtyard Garden quilt, stitched with the help of several of your shop friends and quilted by Bona, looks spectacular presented in the room setting the magazine chose. The close-up photos, extensive construction instructions, assembly diagrams and even a page of appliqué tips prove better than any pattern we could have published for the design!

Now that we have seen the piece in print, we are feverishly cutting kits – green, plum and pink prints from Moda’s Eva collection make up the bulk of the kit fabrics. We can’t wait to share them with you.

American Patchwork and Quilting, February 2010 Issue

This issue of American Patchwork and Quilting (the February issue) also includes patterns for nine other projects. I can honestly say that we find each and every project absolutely irresistible. Work has already begun on samples of five other pieces from the issue! You will also find a brief introduction to the 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge included. As you might guess, we are behind this effort 100% - we will be adding the continuous stream of pillowcases you create, with the kits we provide, to the ongoing count. Your cases will continue to go to brighten the hospital rooms of children being treated for cancer.

We are sorry but the kit for the Courtyard Garden quilt is no longer available and we are unable to order the fabrics that Mary Beth used in her quilt.
